PM says Russian pensions too low to ensure dignified life
MOSCOW, Apr 17 (PRIME) – Russian pensions are too low to ensure good living standards, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.
“Let’s not lie to anyone: a dignified and interesting life is a question of money as well. Today’s level of pensions is far too low to ensure it,” Medvedev said.
He said that the government will make several decisions to raise pensions: a unified method of subsistence level calculation for pensioners will be set for regions, and pensions will be firstly raised to this level and then indexed to make the sum higher.
